On the morning of November 17, 2023, the 2,700 TEU newly built container ship, "CUL SHEKOU," a collaboration between CULines and CSSC Huangpu Wenchong, was successfully named and delivered at the Nansha Longxue Shipyard of CSSC Huangpu Wenchong.

The ceremony was attended by Professor Shan Hongjun, President of Dalian Maritime University（DMU）, Chairman Huang Ming of CSSC Huangpu Wenchong, Vice President Zhao Yan of China Classification Society (CCS), Deputy General Manager Zhang Yi of China Merchants Port (South China) Operating Center, Deputy Chief Engineer Zhou Lanxin of Shanghai Merchant Ship Design and Research Institute (SDARI), General Manager Zhang Xiaoxi of Huaguang Ship Management (China) Company, Deputy General Manager Wang Xiaohua of Shanghai Huayang Maritime, Chairman Raymond Chen, and President Kevin Ding of CULines, as well as partners, media friends, and employee representatives of CULines.

Professor Cheng Xin from the School of Foreign Languages at DMU served as the ship's godmother, naming the new vessel, cutting the lines, and performing the champagne christening.

Speeches were delivered by President Shan Hongjun of DMU, Chairman Huang Ming of CSSC Huangpu Wenchong, and Chairman Raymond Chen of CULines.

Representatives from CSSC Trading Ship Ocean Business Division, Zhang Jun, Marketing Director of Pudong Development Bank Financial Leasing (PDL), Teo Yew Ping, Assistant President and President of Singapore Overseas Headquarters of CULines, and Chen Biaohong, Assistant General Manager of CSSC Huangpu Wenchong, signed the delivery documents on behalf of the four parties.

CUL SHEKOU is the latest environmentally friendly 2,700 TEU container ship built by Wenchong. It has a length of 188.8 meters, a width of 32.2 meters, a draft of 17.2 meters, and a carrying capacity of 34,230 tons. The vessel is equipped with a Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system, meeting the Tier III emission standards and Phase 3 energy-saving standards, reducing the emission of nitrogen oxides (NOx), and allowing navigation in any port and emission control area worldwide. Additionally, the ship is equipped with shore power, desulfurization tower, as well as intelligent ship management, energy consumption monitoring, and data analysis systems. It provides satellite data communication and network services to the crew, reflecting CULines' commitment to ESG principles and its corporate mission of "creating social benefits and promoting environmental protection."

At the same time, CULines' recently delivered vessel, CUL QINGDAO, successfully commenced its maiden voyage in Qingdao on November 16. These newly built ships, used for self-operation and fleet improvement, provide significant support in terms of low fuel consumption, cost-effectiveness, and versatility, contributing to cost reduction and efficiency improvement. When combined with CULines' diverse range of flexible route products, they will help us navigate through cycles and provide more efficient and reliable shipping services to customers and partners.
