On June 23, 2025, China United Lines (CUL) and Dalian Maritime University (DMU) signed the 2025 Annual Donation Agreement. This marks the fourth consecutive year that CUL has donated RMB 1 million to DMU, demonstrating its commitment to supporting maritime education and fulfilling its corporate social responsibility.
The signing ceremony was held at Dalian Maritime University, attended by Xu Minqiang, Secretary of the University Party Committee, Zhao Baogang, Vice President of DMU, and Ding Wei, President of CUL. During the meeting, President Ding Wei, on behalf of Chairman Chen Honghui, conveyed greetings to the university’s leaders, introduced the company's development achievements, and shared CUL's straightforward business philosophy of "building a successful enterprise and giving back to society." President Ding also outlined plans to strengthen cooperation with DMU in areas such as crew and maritime talent development, as well as the promotion of maritime culture. Vice President Zhao Baogang expressed gratitude for CUL's generous donations and deep connection to its alma mater, anticipating close collaboration between the two sides in talent cultivation and industry development.
As a gesture of appreciation, Xu Minqiang, Secretary of the DMU Party Committee, presented CUL with a model of the training vessel "Xin Hong Zhuan", symbolizing the shared aspirations of China United Lines and Dalian Maritime University sailing forward together.
Later that afternoon, President Ding Wei engaged in in-depth discussions with Professor Shan Hongjun, President of DMU, on topics such as the maritime industry's environment and development trends, practical mechanisms for talent internships, targeted and effective scholarship utilization, and collaboration between industry associations and alumni networks. Both parties expressed their hope to continue fostering school-enterprise cooperation to drive the high-quality development of the maritime sector.
CUL's 2025 donation will be designated for projects such as the establishment of the CULines Scholarship and research on maritime culture. As an alumni-founded enterprise, CUL has donated over RMB 4 million to its alma mater to date, reaffirming its commitment to operating responsibly, creating value, and giving back to society.
