Fast-growth shipping line CULines joins GSBN to drive digital transformation

In the afternoon of September 1, 2021, China United Lines (CULINES) and Global Shipping Business Network (GSBN) successfully held the online signing ceremony of the cooperation agreement. CULINES thus officially joined the GSBN. CEO of GSBN Bertrand CHEN and Chairman and CEO of CULINES Raymond CHEN presented the ceremony and delivered remarks.

 

CULINES has been devoted to becoming an integrated and digitalized logistics company in shipping industry. In recent years, CULINES, centered on its core shipping business, has been making efforts to promote digitalization and smart development. Many world-renowned digital business systems for shipping industry such as Allgero, e-Service, FINE BI, Smart Reefer, and PRA have been adopted.

ln the spirit of sustainable innovation, with the data resources, model innovation, and digitalization technology of GSBN, CULINES will continue to enrich the contents of shipping logistics. In the future, CULINES will promote the application of the highly-efficient and transparent digital documents, such as eD/O in terminals of China and South East Asia and eB/L based on the block-chain technology, thus innovating the model of digital business and comprehensively increasing the degree of digitalization. In the meantime, thanks to the block-chain technology, CULINES will play an active role in the data-sharing system of transportation and logistics in GSBN. The whole process of logistics will be visualized and controllable, so as to provide clients with express and efficient shipping and other diversified logistics services.

GSBN is co-founded by eight globally famous shipping and port companies, of which the container cargo volumes account for one-third of the world total. The founding members include COSCO Shipping Lines, COSCO Shipping Ports, Hapag-Lloyd, Hutchison Ports, OOCL, SIPC, Qingdao Port of the Shandong Port Group, and PSA International. CULINES is the first international shipping company to joint GSBN other than the founding members. As a representative of small-and-medium sized shipping companies, CULINES proactively keeps pace with the digitalization of shipping and port industry and equips itself with the ability of faster decision-making and organizing. In the hope of becoming a key player in GSBN, CULINES will promptly pilot and promote the functions of this network. Joining the GSBN is a crucial milestone for CULINES in the course of digitalization, as well as a vital measure to provide better client services and experience and contribute its due share to ensure the stability of international supply chain and logistics.
